"The mine, 380 feet deep produces about 400 tons of coal a day and has a roll of 24. It was opened in 1947 by William Clark and his son Tom of Westfield in partnership with William Park, also of Westfield, Mitchell Johnstone, and a Glasgow man, Mr. Tom Craig."
