• The 1945 List of Mines records Dumback No.2 mine, owned by J. McMillan, employing 24 underground and 4 on the surface working Household coal and Ball Coal

J & D McWilliam are also recorded as operating Dumback No.3 (location unknown) from 1968 to 1971

MINERS PAID OFF About 20 men employed at No. 2 Dumback Mine, Whitburn were paid to permit developing operations being carried out for a new coalfield. Alien the mine resumes these men will have priority for jobs.
