A substantial ironstone pit, set within watery mosslands. Shown with surface building intact on the 1856 OS map, but possibly disused, or used for pumping only, by that time as the tramway serving the pit appears dismantled. The pit bings remains intacts, with little vegetation growing on the black ironstone waste.
