Pit in the lands of Inchcross, reaching Boghead gas coal at a depth of 11 fathoms.

BATHGATE. Fire. —A few nights ago, about 12 o'clock, flame were observed issuing from the engine-house of No. 1 Inchcross Pit, belonging to Mr John M'Kinlay, Hardhill. The flames did not cease until the whole erection was destroyed. The fire is supposed to hare been originated by some evil-disposed person. An investigation is being made.
