Pit in the lands of Mosside to the Jewel coal at 47 fathoms and Bathgate Main coal at 58 fathoms.

The 1885 List of Mines records Mosside No.3, owned by Gavin Paul, manager Walter Annan, working the Main, 5'4", Jewel, 3'8" coals by the stoop and method, employing 5 on the surface and 33 underground. The downcast shaft was 10' x 6' and 330 ft deep, the upcast 4 1/2 x6' 343 feet deep. It was a non-fiery pit ventilated by furnace
