FOULSHIELS COLLIERY.— Pumping operations have been going on for some time at the above colliery. This is somewhat of an experiment to find out if some parts of Loganlea, at present hampered by water, will be lightened by means of the inter-connection existing between the two collieries.

COLLIERY BATHS.—A start has been made at Foulshiels Colliery, belonging to Messrs United Collieries Ltd., with the erection of baths for the workmen. These will prove a great boon to the men especially those who travel a long distance to their work. The neighbouring colliery of Loganlea has had baths for a number of years
