Mine in the lands of Benthead, seemingly the last of Coltness Iron Co.'s Fauldhouse collieries to remain in operation, linked to Fauldhouse No.8 pit by tramway. The site of No.8 pit and top section of the tramway to the mine has been obliterated by land renewal works, but the bing and embankment close to the mine entrance remains, now wooded.

    FAULDHOUSE. Stoppage Pits at Fauldhouse: During the past few weeks the mining industry has been discouraging, one or two sections of works having been stopped. The mine belonging to Messrs Dixon, and which some months ago employed a good number men, has been stopped. With this stoppage, Dixon’s Company practically cease coal mining operations in Fauldhouse district
