On Saturday. the colliers and others employed at the Starryshaw Colliery, Crofthead, to the number of 340 arrived in Stirling by special train from Fauldhouse station, the trip being under the direction of Mr Muir, colliery manager. They were accompanied by the Crofthead Volunteer Band. After visiting the Castle they went to see the Wallace Monument. When they had satisfied their curiosity there, they proceeded to Bridge of Allan, to see the "lions" of the place. They left the station on their homeward journey at 7 p.m.—a jolly lot.
