VALUABLE MINERAL FIELD TO LET. There will be Let by Private Bargain the Whole, or such Portion may be agreed on, of THE MINERALS in the LANDS of EAST FOULSHIELS, TAILEND, BLACKLAWS, and MANSGROVE, extending to about 200 Acres, and lying in the Parish of Whitburn, and County of Linlithgow. It is understood that the Stonyburn and Muirhouse-dykes Coals, together with various seams of Ironstone, exist in Foulshiels. Immediately on the north of these Lands, Blackband Ironstone and Parrot Coal hare been extensively wrought; while rich Bituminous Shales are found at Blackburn, about a mile to the east, and at West Calder, about two mites south-east of them. Blacklaws and Mansgrove are supposed be geologically higher than Foulshiels, but the Minerals in them are comparatively unknown. As, however, the Lands are situated in a rich Mineral district, they are well worth exploration. The projected Addiewell Branch of the North British Railway skirts Foulshiels, and the Wilsontoun and Coltness Railway is only about half a mile distant from Fonlshiels and Blacklaws. Offers will be received Messrs Olen & Henderson, Writers in Linlithgow, until the lot day of August next. Linlithgow, July 1866.
