Rashierigg (lands)

The lands of Rashierigg are within the coalfield districts. No pits were sunk within the lands, however the western parts, north of the road, were excavated and worked by opencast methods as part of the Heartland project in c.2010. The 1870 minerals map recorded that the lands were owned by Mrs Gibson, but the minerals were not let at that time. The houses of Rashiehill Place, Longridge occupy the site of Rashiehill farmhouse. Some land south of the Fauldhouse road was occupied by Longridge curling pond.
