Shaft in the land of Woodmuir, one of a group of Woodmuir - early pits (south)

An abandoned pit shaft to the Wilsontown Gas Coal at 8 fathoms shown on the 1939 6" Geological Survey map. Not marked on the 1855 OS map, but two depressions, marked as "old quarry" are shown on the 1895 OS map. Little trace remains on the ground, which has been ploughed and forested.
