RETIRAL OF MR. THOMAS C. WHITE.

Mr. Fraser reported that Mr. Thomas C. White, Clerk in the Registered Office, Glasgow, has expressed his desire, owing to ill-health, to retire from serviceo. Mr. White is now 60 years of age and has completed. 47 years service in the Scottish Mineral Oil Trade. He joined The Uphall Oil Company, Uphall, in 1883 (which Company was taken over by Young' s Paraffin Light & Mineral Oil Co.Ltd. in 1884), and after filling positions there, at Bathgate and London, was, in 1911, appointed cashier in the Glasgow Sales Branch of Young's Company. In 1920 Mr. White was transferred to this Company along with other employes, and has been in this Company's service since then. He has been most assiduous in carrying out all his duties. In consideration of his faithful service, it was agreed that Young's Company, in whose employment he has served for the greater part of the period, should be asked to grant him on his retiral an ex gratia allowance at the rate of £125 per annum during the pleasure of the Board, it being estimated that this ellowance along with his interest in the Anglo-Persian Provident Fund Trust, assuming that he is granted the full benefit of the "C" Account, will give him a total of slightly over £160 per annum.
