Cambridge disappearing filament pyrometer for measuring temperature, black bakelite instrument in leather case with instructions for use on the inside of the lid, c. 1940.

From Youngs Detergents at Pumpherston Oil Refinery laboratory. Used to measure the temperature of furnaces and retorts.
