Description
Utilitarian simple bracket oil paraffin lamp by Young's Paraffin Light & Mineral Oil Company Ltd minus chimney and reflector, c. 1920.
The reservoir and backplate are of painted tinplate to which is braised an embossed rectangular brass plate bearing the maker's name, fitted with a burner with two flat wicks embossed with "Young's Duplex"
This type of utilitarian lamp would be fixed by a single screw to the wall, perhaps of a scullery or outhouse
