Belt pouch for holding battery of miner's cap lamp.
Home-made from wood and conveyor belting, slot at the back allows the pouch to be fitted onto a belt, c. 1950
James McWilliams worked for Scottish Oils Ltd in 1940 working as an oncost, drawer and faceman at Hopetoun No 35 (Threemiletown) Pit. He then worked as a faceman and deputy (fireman) at Philpstoun until 1962. He was also in the Mine Rescue Team for 19 years. From 1962 - 1979 he worked at the BP Refinery
